A film by Victoria Kereszi
Join us for a very special community screening of Into Loving Hands, a film that began as a documentary about a midwife—but became something no one could have predicted.
At the heart of the film is Rebecca Williams, a mother who, halfway through her pregnancy, received shattering news: her baby was considered “unviable” after detecting what doctors determined were fatal heart anomalies. The experts told her she had only one choice—to end the pregnancy. But Rebecca chose something else. She chose to keep listening to life, to love, and to the tiny presence growing inside her.
With the help of a brave midwife and the support of her husband, Rebecca chose to give her baby the chance for even one breath. What followed was an incredible journey of surprises, heartbreak, and hope. Joey not only arrived breathing, but brought with him a spirit that no one, especially no expert, could have foreseen. Through home birth, heart surgery, and a life filled with both challenge and beauty, this story asks us to consider: What does it mean to choose life, no matter the outcome?
Filmed over more than a decade, Into Loving Hands is a moving portrait of family courage, the presence of true love, and the power of listening deeply to life’s most heartfelt moments.
